Connie L. Haner Hancock, age 68, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 11th, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elmira, NY on April 26th, 1949 to the late Edsel Carson and Dorothy (McCann) Carson. She married Bill Hancock on July 24th, 1993 and spent 24 loving years together. Connie is predeceased by her first husband Jack Tillotson in 1979, daughter Maria Swansbrough in 1998, and her grandson Michael Swansbrough. She is survived by her husband; Bill Hancock, brother Carl (Judy) Carsondaughter Judy Haner (Chip), son Scott (Phyllis) Haner, son Billy Hancock (Heather), daughter Tammy (George) Wright, daughter Valerie Gauvin, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Connie graduated from Southside High School in 1967 and went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science from Elmira College in 1989. She later established her own accounting business, Hancock Tax and Accounting. She was a wildlife rehabilitator which she thoroughly enjoyed. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11 AM at the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church, 1238 Pennsylvania Avenue, Pine City, NY. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to CareFirst at 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, NY, 14870 or to a charity of one’s choice.
