Charlotte Mae Forsterling

Age 69, of Huntington Station, NY. Went peacefully to be with her Lord on Monday, June 10, 2002. She was born May 31, 1933 the daughter of the late Charles and Clara (Bristol) Updike. Charlotte is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Vernon; son, Joseph (Beth); grandson, Andrew; daughter, Connie all of Huntington, NY; sisters, Clarabelle Decker of Gillett, PA; Christine (Richard) Freeman of Lawrenceville, PA; brother, Leon Updike of Montour Falls, NY; mother-in-law, Gudrun Forsterling of Locust Valley, NY; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Alton (Genevieve) Updike; father-in-law, Borge Forsterling; first husband, Andrew Joseph Freeman. Charlotte was a graduate of Troy High School Troy, PA in 1951 and was a graduate of Zion Bible Institute E. Providence, RI in 1956. She was a member of the Huntington Assembly of God Church and enjoyed playing banjo and guitar, singing with family and friends and was faithful in service to her Lord, church home, family and the needy in the community. Family and friends are invited to call at Elmira Christian Center 235 East Miller Street Elmira, NY on Thursday, June 13, 2002 from 5 ? 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held there at the conclusion of the visitation. (7 PM) The Reverend John Bedzyk will officiate. Committal Services will take place on Friday, June 14, 2002 at 10:00 AM in the Gillett Cemetery Gillett, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to the Elmira Christian Center Missions Department in her memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc.
