After a long and very productive life; fighting to the bitter end, Charles W. Robinson II age 93, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 and is now with the lord Jesus Christ. He was born Friday, July 10, 1925 in Elmira, NY.Charles William Robinson (II), known as "Chuckie" to some family members and friends.The son of the late Charles Frederick, (I) and Ellen (Lee) Robinson. He was predeceased former wife: Lurline May (Johnston) Robinson. Also predeceased by his brother Frederick David Robinson; sisters: Ellen Lenore (Robinson) Aaron and Annie Elizabeth (Robinson) Jones. Charles II is survived by his 4 children: Son and caretaker, Charles, III and Laura Robinson. Grandchildren: Krystal Lurline Robinson, Samantha Renee Robinson, Tiffany Totayana Robinson, Charles William Robinson IV and Amani Serena Robinson. Son, Stanley and Nina Robinson. Grandchildren, Stanley Robinson, Jr. Nathan Robinson and Mary Robinson; Son, Craig Robinson; Daughter, Nancy-Ann Ross. Grandson, John Ross. along with other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was a Veteran of the US Navy proudly serving his country as a Seaman First Class gunners mate. He retired as a Corrections Officer with the NYSDOC at the Elmira Reformatory after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0001. Charles was a craftsman and loved wood working and working with his hands. He enjoyed writing, playing the organ and drawing pictures in his spare time. Above all else, Charles loved and valued family.Charles' legacy includes the unique trademark of the sense of fellowship, connection, and celebration of the Robinson extended family. Most of us have fond memories of regular family gatherings at "Nana's House" (Charles' Mother), or at "Uncle Freddy's House" (Charles' brother). Family & friends are invited to gather for visitation at Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira/Southport, NY on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 12 PM to 1 PM. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 1PM. Internment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery where the Honor Guard will accord Mr. Robinson with Military Honors.
