Charlene M. Thomas

ELMIRA – Charlene "Chipper" M. Thomas, 72, of Elmira, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.Born onDecember 19, 1949 in Elmira, NY, she was the daughter of the late Wilber and Margaret (Cook) Rice. Charlene was a diehard NY Giants and Buffalo Bills fan.She loved Snoopy and Bugs Bunny collectibles, crocheting and bowling.In the afternoons, she would make sure she was home in time to watch the Bold and the Beautiful and Gunsmoke.She also enjoyed watching wrestling.More than anything, she cherished the time that she shared with her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Buczkowski. She is survived by her companion of 42 years, Gerald T. Butler, Sr of Elmira; her daughter, Margaret (Mark) Buczkowski of Erin; her son, Gerald T. Butler, Jr. of Elmira; her grandchildren, Paige E. Bobby-Butler, Kaden R. Buczkowski, Gerald T. Butler, III, and Chase A. C. Butler. Services will be private and at the convenience of her family.
