Charlene H. Greenfield

Charlene Heskett Greenfield, age 86, of Washington Street, Elmira, NY passed away peacefully at the Chemung County Nursing Facility on December 11, 2024. Charlene was born February 21, 1938, in New York, NY to the late Edward C. and Catherine M. (Heskett) Saunders. She was a wonderful wife to her late husband Alfred J. Greenfield for 27 years who preceded her in death in 1997. She was also predeceased by her sister Rita. She and Alfred had no children and she is survived by her congregation and ministry families.

Charlene was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on April 4, 1948. She was a loyal friend and mentor to many. She enjoyed traveling, telling a good story, and visiting and hosting others at her home. Her greatest love, though, was sharing her Bible-based hope with others. For over 61 years, she enjoyed her full-time ministry work in the Ithaca, Interlaken, Penn Yan, Watkins Glen and Elmira/Horseheads areas.

Services will be held at the Elmira Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 710 Lena Pl., Elmira NY 14905, on January 11th @ 4:00pm.

Charlene will be laid to rest in her family plot in Second Milo Cemetery, Penn Yan, NY.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, New York 14904
