Carolyn J. (Newell) Scott

Carolyn J. (Newell) Scott, age 81, formerly of Robert Street, Southport, NY passed away Friday January 3, 2024 at the Corning Center, Corning, NY. Carolyn was born April 30, 1943 in Corning, NY daughter of the late George and Vera (Cook) Newell. She attended local schools and later was married to the late James L. Scott, Sr. who passed away on August 16, 2018. Carolyn was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, James Scott, her daughter and son in law, Sheila (Jody) Swarthout, grandchildren, Delos Carl, Michael Martin, Jessie Carl, Justin Martin, Kayla Carl, Nick Scott, Andrew Scott, several great-grandchildren, special niece Teresa Dears.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, husband James L. Scott, Sr., two sons, Leroy Scott, Jerry Scott and a daughter Brenda Woughter.
