Carol Lou Shaylor
Age 81 of Elmira, NY, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at UHS Wilson Hospital, due to complications from a previous stroke.
Carol is survived by her sons, John (Diana), Randy (Paula), and Jeff (Wendy); grandchildren, Christi Wescott, Shawn, Nicole, Adam, Megan Shaylor; and one great-grandchild, Owen Wescott.
She is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Norman; brother, Scott Pedalty; grandson, Tyler Shaylor and grandson-in-law, Donald Wescott.
Of the many jobs Carol had, she was most known for selling and playing organs at Keyboard City. She enjoyed playing the organ and played at the county fair for many years. After Norm's retirement, they traveled full time in their RV and enjoyed visiting with their children and attending their grandchildren's events. Carol Lou loved spoiling her grandchildren by taking them places and cooking and baking for them. No one left Gramma's house hungry.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Penna. Ave., Elmira on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a  funeral service immediately following the calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 10:00 am at Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads, NY
