Bruce E. Blakeslee, Jr.

Bruce Emery Blakeslee, Jr. passed away at home on January 31, 2025 at the age of 33.

Bruce is survived by: his parents Bruce Blakeslee Sr. and Patty (Hamilton) Blakeslee; his brothers - David, Robert, Ben, Adam, Tyler, and Brock; and his sisters - Samantha, Morgan, and Sydney. He was preceded in death by: his grandparents - Raymond Blakeslee, Dwight and Joan Putney (Blakeslee), and James and Bertha Hamilton; and his brother Connor Patrick Blakeslee.

Bruce was born early, at 31 weeks, on December 3, 1991, weighing only 4 lbs. 1 oz. He was strong from the very beginning. When he was younger, we always thought he was a potential actor. He would love to fly around the house in his cape pretending to be Batman, one of his favorite movies, along with The Mask. He loved going on adventures in the woods with his siblings at his childhood home in Ithaca, NY, always being the one to take the lead and never being afraid of getting lost. He played basketball, baseball, and football during his school days. He attended Elmira Free Academy.

Bruce was known by his close friends and family to be sincere and honest. He had the biggest heart and always would put others before himself. He was very artistic and talented. He loved to write music and create his own beats, even producing and recording his own songs that he shared on YouTube. He loved to make others laugh and had a memorable sense of humor. Bruce struggled with his mental health from a young age, but always remained hopeful.

Bruce will be missed by a tremendous number of people who were touched by his honesty, sincerity, and his heart. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace.

A celebration of life is being planned for the Spring of 2025, at the convenience of the family.
