Blanche V. Brown

Brown, Blanche V. Age 83 of 3005 Watkins Road Horseheads, NY. Passed away Saturday, July 7, 2001 at Bethany Manor after an extended illness. She was born February 18, 1918 in Knoxdale, PA the daughter of the late Ira and Iva (Schosthal) Mauk. Her brothers, Delvin and Ronald Mauk, preceded her in death. Her survivors include: daughter, Sandra (Jeffrey) Dennis of Elmira, NY; sons, Patrick (Velma) Brown of Safford, AZ; Thomas Brown; grandchildren, Carol, Allen and Laura Dennis; Patrick, Ty and Amy Brown; great grandson, Case Johnson; along with several nieces and nephews. Blanche attended the Pennsylvania State University graduating in 1940 receiving her degree as a dietician. She later served in the capacity of dietician in several hospitals and nursing homes throughout the country. Blanche enjoyed cooking her entire life. Collecting recipes and trying them brought joy to her as well. She also loved gardening. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Thursday, July 12, 2001 at 3:00 PM. The Reverend James Crupi will officiate. Inurnment will take place in Knoxdale, PA privately and at the family?s convenience. The family of Blanche wish to especially thank all of the nurses and staff at Bethany Manor for their love, kindness and support they gave unselfishly while she was with them at the Manor.
