Beverly (Meade) Wales

HORSEHEADS – Beverly (Meade) Wales, 89, of Horseheads, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021.Born on January 14, 1932 in Elmira, NY, she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Florence (Mattison) Wandelt. Beverly was a homemaker and mother of six children.She was ordained as a minister by the Pinecrest Bible Training Center and she became pastor of the Love & Grace Fellowship Church in Elmira.She also led Bible studies at the Elmira Correctional Facility through the Golden Key Prison Ministry.Beverly was a committed Christian and encouraged many people in their faith.She was very active in her church, teaching Bible studies, Sunday School, choir director and helping those in need. She was predeceased by her husband, George Wales; her daughter, Florence (Wales) Maria; and her brother, Andrew Meade. She is survived by her children, Mina Louise (Mike) Wales-Kerchak of Boynton Beach, FL, Georgia Wales (John) Hose of Hagerstown, MD, Michael (Lynn O’Connell) Wales of Alfred, NY, Andrew (Kristan) Wales, Athens, PA, Thomas Wales of Rochester, NY; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sharon (Richard) Falls of Pine City. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Bethany Christian Fellowship, 311 S Elmira Street in Athens, PA with Reverend Mark Waters, officiating.Visitation with the family begins at 12:00 before the service.Online condolences may be made by visiting www.olthof.com.
