Beverly A. Blampied

July 10, 1940 — March 2, 2024

Beverly A. Bates Blampied, born on July 10, 1940, in Rome, NY, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY. She was the daughter of Clayton and Florence (Schreck) Bates. Beverly worked as a secretary for Elmira City School District and in the Deli at Tops Friendly Market in Elmira. She was a 1958 graduate from Southside High School.

She is survived by her children William Blampied Jr. of Horseheads NY, Bonny (Robert) Potter of Horseheads NY, Daniel Blampied of Elmira NY, and Tim Blampied of Elmira NY. Grandchildren, Ashley Blampied (Jonny), Blaine Blampied, Courtney Brooks, Bobby Potter (Lindsey), Amanda Potter (Dan), Carley Blampied (Freddie), and Tanner (Emily) Lunduski, four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Charles Bates and her daughter-in-law Karen Blampied.

In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was truly the most loving and friendly person that you could ever meet. She was more than happy to be the central figure in the lives of her children. Anyone that knew her children knew that she was a star in their eyes, and that's all that mattered to her. She never had anything bad to say about anyone and would go out of her way to help anyone in need. She was very forgiving, kind and full of love. She was one of a kind in our eyes and heart. She will be missed dearly.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at St. Joe's Skilled Nursing Units 3C and 3D who both took care of her the last six years and to the ICU at Arnot Ogden who took care of her in her final days.

Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects at the Olthof Funeral Home, 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. The family interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at their convenience. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Beverly's memory may be made to the Chemung County SPCA, 2435, County Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903.
