Wright, Betty Lou age 90, of Elmira, NY passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born March 7, 1930 in Daggett, PA and was the daughter of the late Ernest H. and Gertrude Wells Thorp. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Lewis, Marian (Avery), Gladys (Kliner), Daryl and Delos. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Homer Donald Wright, along with her children, Axieann (Keith) Knowlden, Charles (Marcalene) Wright and Calvin (Angela) Wright; 14 grandchildren, Scott (Julie) Knowlden, Christy (Steven) Randall, Brad (Alicia) Knowlden, Ryan (Vanessa) Wright, Brandon (Ellen) Wright, Erin Wright and fiancé Christopher, Marissa Curran, Nichole Curran, Amanda Lloyd, Jack (Michelle) Wright, Stephen (Amanda) Wright, Chad Wright and his partner Zachary, Ashley Hurler and fiancé Russell, and Jessika Hurler; 26 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Betty retired from Westinghouse after 23 years of being an Inspector.She enjoyed crocheting, square dancing, playing cards, having garage sales, growing her violets and orchids, and many hours of putting together puzzles. She especially loved the time spent with her family and many friends. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene for 50 plus years. At Betty’s request, no services will be held. Betty’s family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Steven Greenberg, Leia, and the rest of the office staff at Arnot Health for the exceptional love and care given to our mom and wife over the years. Also, a thank you to the support team of nurses and clergy of Care First.
