ELMIRA – Belinda J. Harris, 69, of Elmira, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022. Born on September 19, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Arlene Joyce (Redner) Harris. Belinda was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy.
Belinda lived a life of love, generosity and devout faith. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church for many years. She had many wonderful friends that loved her at her day program STIRS as well as at Flannery Towers where she lived.
Her cat, Birdy meant the world to her. Belinda was a gifted poet and artist. She would often give away her works for others to enjoy. She was an Elvis Presley fan and had an extensive collection of his memorabilia. More than anything, she cherished the time that she shared with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Judith (Murray) Fisher of Wellsburg; her brothers, Donald (Diana) Harris, Carl (Pamela) Harris; many nieces and nephews; as well as her special friends, Nancy and Cathy Hendrickson.
A Memorial Service will be held at Pennsylvania Avenue United Methodist Church in Pine City on October 6th at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pennsylvania Ave United Methodist Church bus fund, 1238 Penna Ave, Pine City, NY 14871. To leave online condolences, please visit www.olthof.com .
He will come back
He promises that he
Will come back. Only
To Collect his own
I will go with him
Without the fear inside
Of me he will come
Back for all who claim
His heart
No, there is nothing
To fear from him, as
We are the ones that
Belong to him and him
Only. I can’t wait, until
He comes. As it will be
A day of rejoicing
So don’t try and hide
Be right out in the
Open and he will take
You home
Belinda J. Harris
