Ann M. Davis

Ann M. Davis, Age 90, of Southport, NY, passed away Friday, April 11, 2025 at home with her loving family at her side. Ann was born January 31, 1935 in Syracuse, NY, daughter of the late Clyde and Leah (Gero) Murrock. She was a graduate of Syracuse Schools.  Ann was dedicated to her family and worked hard to care for them.  She retired from General Electric where she worked as an assembler for many years. She didn't enjoy retirement so went to  work for Leigh Systems and then MCL Industries and  finally retired at the age of 76. She lived in the Syracuse area for most of her life and after retirement moved to the Elmira area 12 years ago to be closer to her family.
Survivors include her daughters and sons in law; Debbie and Matt Allen of Athens, PA, Leslie and Kevin Loukopoulous of Elmira, NY, Lynda and Wayne Nock of Killeen, TX; a son and daughter in law; Rick and Billie Gilchrist of Pine City, NY, a son in law, Ralph Smith of Elmira, NY, 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, a daughter Cathy Smith, daughter in law, Lori Gilchrist, and several siblings and her many furry companions.
Ann attended St. Mary’s Church in Elmira and in her spare time she enjoyed many crafts like making homemade Christmas ornaments, working on stained glass projects, and woodworking. She also enjoyed sudoku,  feeding her birds and tending to her flowers.
Services are private and internment will be in Fitzsimmons Cemetery, Southport, NY. The Olthof Funeral Home 1050 Pennsylvania Avenue, Elmira, NY 14904 is assisting the family. A Celebration of Life will be held at Higher Hope Church, 356 Maple St., Big Flats, NY on Saturday,  April 26 from 3 until 6 pm, family and friends are invited
