Age 88 a resident of Appleridge at Bethany Village, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2003 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Adolf was born in New York City to Adolf N. and Hannah Bystrom Peterson. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Johnson Peterson in 1998 and his brother Wallin B. Peterson in 1987. He is survived by his loving children: John A. (Nancy) Peterson of Middletown, OH; Karin P. (Reeve) Howland of Elmira, NY; Eric A. (Christine) Peterson of Atlanta, GA; beloved grandchildren: Elizabeth P. (Jake) Cooke, Anders A. (Tara) Peterson, John H. (Michelle) Peterson, R. Scott (Jennifer) Howland, Peter G. (Peg) Howland; great grandchildren: Austin and Cole Peterson, Gus and Grace Cooke; brother: E. Arden (Cynthia) Peterson; sister-in-law: Eleanor Peterson; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Adolf, who held many patents, retired from Hardinge Inc. after 47 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Bethany Lutheran Church and served as their organist for 50 years. He was truly loved by all who knew him. His family will receive friends and family on Friday, March 21, 2003 at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. from 2 ? 4 and 7 ? 9 PM. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 AM in Bethany Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ann Cassler officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Woodlawn Cemetery Elmira, NY.
