Alma Mae ?Mace? Cook Lifelong resident of Southport Age 75 of Dry Run Road Pine City, NY passed away Saturday, February 23, 2002 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. She was born May 28, 1926 at the home of her late parents, Richard Grant and Gertrude A. (Criss) Sawyer. Alma married Arthur Cook Jr. on a very hot summer afternoon August 2, 1975 in the Webb Mills United Methodist Church. They have celebrated 26 wonderful years of life together. She is survived by her loving husband, Arthur; beloved children, Gary Lou (Dinah) Munson; Sharon Elma (Munson) {Donald} Haskins; Roy Mangus Munson all of Pine City, NY; grandchildren, Peter M. (Peggy) Munson, Gary A. (Hope) Munson, Samuel V. (Lisa) Munson, and MatthewMunson; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Iva Riley of Caton, NY; sister-in-law, Dorothy Sawyer of Horseheads, NY; along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her first husband, Kenneth C. Munson March 13, 1974, predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her sister, Mary (Osburn) Wood and brother, Melvin R. Sawyer. Alma retired from the Arnot Ogden Medical Center after 18 years of faithful service as a nurses aide. She was a member of the D.A.R., Triple City Archeology Club in Binghamton, NY and a member of the Southport Historical Society. She enjoyed farming and was a magnificent homemaker. After her retirement, she loved cooking and entertaining for others. All will dearly miss her. Family and friends are invited to call at the Olthof Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 Pennsylvania Ave. Elmira, NY on Tuesday, February 26, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held there on Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Reverend David Hays Pastor of the Webb Mills United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment services will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery Elmira. A ?Candle of Memory? in Alma?s name may be lit at www.olthof.com.
